Family holiday on the Swabian Alb - lots of space to discover and experience
During the summer holidays (Baden-Württemberg) you can go on a journey of discovery with the Summer Holiday Express of the Swabian Alb Railway. Among the most visited attractions are the Blaubeuren Monastery, the Hohenzollern Castle in Sigmaringen, Lichtenstein Castle, the Limes Museum in Aalen. Especially popular for families with children are excursions to the cave adventure world. Stone Age adventures and excitement await the whole family in Giengen-Hürben: Charlottenhöhle, HöhlenSchauLand, HöhlenHaus. If you want to get to the bottom of the secrets of the Swabian underworld, descend to the Nebelhöhle or the Bear and Charlemagne Caves. Bone finds show that apart from bears, rhinos and cave lions also lived in the stalactite grotto. About 8,000 years ago cavemen lived here. The Wimsener Höhle is the only water cave in Germany that can be entered by boat. A special pleasure are the fossil knocking places which can be found everywhere.
Cheerful children's cheers accompany the rides on the Sonnenbühl summer toboggan run and fairytale leisure fun enchants the whole family in the Traumland leisure park.
Prominent towns in the Swabian Alb are Aalen, Heidenheim, Münsingen, Reutlingen, Bad Urach and of course the famous Danube city of Ulm.
