Barrier-free travel
People with disabilities often have to face barriers in their daily life, for example stairs, narrow doors, no ramps and elevators as well as buildings and transport vehicles which are not accessible steplessly. Nevertheless Baden-Wuerttemberg offers various possibilities for people with disabilities to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
Experience Community – people with disabilities are welcome!
In Youth Hostels all people are welcome and can enjoy a good time together. Many Youth Hostels are designed according to the needs of people with disabilities so that they can spend a carefree holiday with their friends and family. These Youth Hostels have an elevator and or step-free access, wheelchair-accessible rooms and toilettes as well as stepless access to common rooms and lounges. Many of these Youth Hostels are located in common travel destinations. They are characterised by the disabled symbol.
You can expect the following from us
For us it is selfevident, that on all our projects regarding renovation or building of a Youth Hostel, we consistently realize barrier-free living. We are working together on this topic with the Regional Association for people with physical disabilities and multiple disabilities in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Our renovations and modernizations fellow the DIN standards, which would class them as barrier-free, as far as possible. But our Youth Hostels are as different as our guests and each one has its own history. Many of the Youth Hostels are located in historical buildings, were refurbished several times or have to fulfill specific regulations. Therefore it is possible that the DIN standards sometimes are not fully implemented.
