Sigmaringen is located on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb in the Upper Danube Valley, one of the most beautiful rock valleys in Germany. Easily visible from afar, the town's landmark, the impressive castle of the princes of Hohenzollern, rises high above the town. The royal family and a museum are located in the castle. The hostel is situated on the northern outskirts of the town, surrounded by a spacious outdoor area. The town centre is just a 20-minute walk away.
Arriving by public transport
The hostel is about 2 km away from Sigmaringen station. Leave the station, follow the Bahnofstrasse road to the right for about 300 m until Fürst-Wilhelm-Straße. Cross this road and follow the footpath diagonally to your right-hand side (signposted "Jugendherberge" ["Youth Hostel"]). After crossing the Danube river, take the footbridge (across the railway tracks). Then follow the signs to the Jugendherberge ("Youth Hostel").

Arriving by car/bus
Coming from Gammertingen or Balingen/Albstadt, take the third or second exit to the barracks (Kaserne) at the roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the first exit (Innenstadt = town centre) and the hostel is about 100 m on the right-hand side. Coming from Ulm (B32): just before Sigmaringen and after the railway underpass, turn right towards the barracks (Kaserne). At the roundabout, take the third exit towards the hospital (Hohenzollernstrasse). At the next roundabout, take the second exit (Innenstadt = town centre) and the hostel is on the right-hand side about 100 m further on.
