Ulm Cathedral is world famous. As is the "Ulmer Spatz" ("Ulm's sparrow"). A university town and city of culture. Young and modern, but aware of its historical past. Fancy a stroll through the beautiful town centre? Or how about spending some happy hours on the Danube? Many attractions await explorers in and around Ulm. How about a trip to the Adlerbastei (Eagles Bastion) or to Wiblingen Monastery in the former Benedictine abbey?
Fancy exploring the Danube by canoe? Or would you prefer to see the small bricks at Legoland in Gunzburg?
Ulm has been attracting visitors for a long time. The official history of Ulm started on 22 July 854 when King Louis the German sealed a document in Hulma palace. But Ulm has been in existence for much longer than that. There was a late Neolithic village near Eggingen around 5000 BC. And in the Bronze Age, two important trade routes crossed the Ulm area: the "Donau-Nord-Straße" ("Danube North route") running from west to east and the "Albstraße" coming from Filstal valley. Right, then. On to Ulm.
The hostel is located in Ulm, on the southwestern outskirts of town towards Grimmelfingen near Ulm's sports and leisure centre. The Geschwister-Scholl Youth Hostel in Ulm is well able to cope with the wishes and needs of classes, groups and families. You can switch off and unwind here. Catch the last rays of sunshine with a good book on the lawn. Or would you prefer a game of outdoor chess?
How about a table tennis or table football match? Roll the dice and play a board game.
The team of the Geschwister-Scholl Youth Hostel in Ulm is looking forward to welcome you!
