Experience the carnival in the southwest region of Germany in all its glory. The Swabian Alemannic “Fasnet” refers to traditions of the medieval and early modern carnival. The city is crawling with carnival revelers, devils, “Maschker”, witches and animals. Customs, rustic and rich in traditions, like the “Narrensprung”, torchlight processions and much more turn these kind of carnival to an unforgettable adventure.

Rottweiler Narrensprung

The “capital of the Swabian Alemannic  carnival revelers province” invites you at multiple dates to the annually “Narrensprung”

Schömberger Fasnet

Distinctive feature of the Schömberger carnival is the annually “Bolones” (polonaise), when up to 700 Schömberger carnival revelers are dancing a polonaise for about an hour.

Großer Fasnetsumzug in Weil der Stadt

In Weil der Stadt you can find one of the largest carnival processions with dozens of floats and – according to the weather conditions – up to 50.000 spectators. In the first place bands and Guggen musics are playing all over the city.

Basler Fasnacht / Basler Morgestraich

The “Basler Morgestraich” in Basel is one of the highlights of the “Drey schenschte Dääg” (the three most beautiful days), the largest carnival in Switzerland. Drummers, piccolo players, Guggen musicians, floats and chaises are moving through downtown.

Konstanzer Butzenlauf

For about 30 years the Konstanzer Butzenlauf impresses with its rich variety in guilds and masks. Up to 2000 “Konstanzer Mäschgerle” and companioned guilds are joining up downtown.

Fackelumzug der Triberger Teufel

At the traditional Triberger devils procession the devils are walking abroad. Together with the town’s musicians and other bands of the neighborhood hundreds of devils are moving through downtown equipped with torches.

Elzacher Schuttige

The “Schuttige” is one of the most rustic carnival characters of the Swabian Alemannic carnival. At night it can get creepy!

Buurefasnacht Weil am Rhein

Several thousands of “Hästräger” and its multiple of spectators enjoy the colourful procession with weird Guggen music down the “Hauptstraße”, which ends in a huge carnival’s fire.

Villinger Fasnacht

The “Narro” – for his part the aristocrat of the Swabian Alemannic carnival – got its home in Villingen. There you can find him at the historic procession of the “Narro” guild as well as the historic “Maschgerelauf”.
