You have read rightly: actually there are 12 lakes in Nettetal, that`s why it`s also called the city of the lakes. Especially famous are the Krickenbecker lakes which are forming one of the oldest nature protection reserves in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Six colour-coded circular hiking-paths are offering hikes of diverse lenghts and interesting insights of the flora and fauna. Don`t feel like walking? Already at the arrival at the youth hostel Nettetal-Hinsbeck children`s eyes start to shine. The reason is the original circus tent on the outdoor area of the house in which circus leisure times for children, families and school classes take place. Artist, clown or fire-breather? Here everyone will discover his skills. But also music groups are using the circus tent for concerts and general rehearsals.
