In the city core you will feel like in front of a historical film set; straggle through contorted alleys in the historic district with its 300 architectural Monuments. Now and then little bridges are leading over the river Rur. That`s pure romance! Further up, on a height above the city, the castle Monschau is sitting enthroned.

After the reconstruction you can expect since summer of 2016 in Monschau-Hargard a completely modernised and new designed youth hostel. Additionally to an energetic redevelopment all the rooms will be equipped with a separate bathroom and one room will be furnished especially for wheelchair users. The youth hostel is certified as a Bed&Bike one, and is lending itself for specific wonderful cycle-tours through the Eifel.
