THE HIGH SEA ISLAND  Did you know that Germany has a bunch of islands? But only one of them is a "high sea island": Helgoland! It's this huge rock made of colorful sandstone, towering 58 meters high and standing all by itself in the middle of the North Sea. And right in front of it, there's a beautiful sandy beach called Badedüne. If you're lucky, you might even spot some seals chilling out in the sand.

SPECTACULAR VIEW  Our youth hostel is located right by the sea, so you can wake up to an epic view of the North Sea. We've got these amazing panoramic windows in the breakfast room, so you can soak up the waves and the ocean while you chow down.
