The small town of Strehla, situated on the northern Elbe floodplains, boasts a past dating back more than 1000 years. This place is shaped by its old townhouses, narrow streets in the town centre and the castle with its spacious, landscaped park grounds. The Youth Hostel can be found on the outskirts of town not far from the Elbe Cycle Route, just ten kilometres from both Riesa and Oschatz, in a former windmill. Incidentally: The German band "Silbermond" began their musical careers at the Strehla "Media Camps".
