Located directly on the Neckar between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb, Rottweil is a gem.

Welcome to the oldest town in Baden-Württemberg. Rottweil, the Swabian town, stands for mediaeval charm, modern art and culture, and crazy behaviour. How about a stroll through the historical town centre, past the old house called "hübscher Winkel" ("nice corner")? For lovers of art and culture, there are national and international artists and musicians, spectacular art performances, sculptures and memorable musical and theatrical performances galore. Or would you rather ignore them and, for once in your life, jump around like a fool, full of life, through the black gate. Or would you like to try southern Germany's longest water slide at Aquasol? In Rottweil, no wish is left unfulfilled.

The hostel is in the mediaeval town centre of Rottweil, surrounded by town houses with roof ridges and eaves parallel to the street, late mediaeval facades, bay windows and magnificent playful signs.

The hostel is in the former Dominican convent and was newly opened on January 24th 2013. A Youth Hostel with a special atmosphere.

Arriving by public transport
The hostel is located only about 1.5 km from Rottweil train station.
Follow Bahnhofstraße for 900 m towards Äußere Alleenstraße.
From there, turn right into Hochbrücktorstraße, cross Friedrichsplatz (square) and then left into Bruderschaftsgasse. On Kriegsdamm, turn left into the Hintere Höllgasse. This runs towards the left and becomes Oberamteigasse.

Rail service for DJH members
The Community Travel GmbH offers DJH members discounted RIT tickets for a return journey within Germany - this applies only in conjunction with stays in a hostel. School classes and groups can make use of this offer. You must carry confirmation of your booking with you when travelling.

Arriving by car/bus
You can drive to Rottweil on the A81 Bodensee motorway Stuttgart-Singen, taking the Rottweil exit. The town is on the B27 between Schaffhausen and Stuttgart, on the B14, which goes from Stockach am Bodensee to Rottweil via Tuttlingen and then on to Stuttgart via Horb am Neckar, and on the B462 from Rottweil through the Black Forest to Freudentstadt and Rastatt .
