Tucked away under tall trees and with direct beach access to the Örtze, our youth hostel is located on the outskirts of Müden/Örtze. The village has retained the character of a typical heath village and impresses with its old half-timbered buildings, farmhouses and gnarled old oaks.
The Örtze offers paddlers a fantastic river experience with a meandering course and cosy resting places in a lush green landscape. We will gladly put you in touch with canoe providers. Two long-distance hiking trails pass through Müden and the kilometre-wide network of hiking trails in the Südheide Nature Park is within easy reach. An extensive network of cycle paths connects the most beautiful heath areas of the Lüneburg Heath with each other. We are happy to arrange bike hire for tours.
There's plenty to discover on the river forest adventure trail that runs past the youth hostel. The same applies to the Müden Wildpark or a horse-drawn carriage ride through the heath. Our cosy youth hostel is the perfect place for school groups, families, hiking, music and sports groups. For those who like a bit more adventure, we recommend our tent camp. Our site offers plenty of space to pitch your own tents. Pure nature, with a permanent fireplace, barbecue facilities, your own sanitary facilities and cooling facilities.
To relax and let off steam, there is a spacious outdoor area with table tennis tables, a volleyball court, a children's playground and a barbecue hut. On rainy days, table football, billiards, table tennis and board games are available. On certain baking days, you can watch the village baker at work in our own stone oven house.
