Leisure tips

An excellent location!

Burg Wildenstein (Wildenstein Castle) is on a rock high above the Danube. The view: sensational. When the fog lifts from the valley: amazing! The castle complex, dating from the 11th century, brings explorers to the scene. Hiking through the unspoilt landscape with side trips to castles, ruins and rocky outcrops is almost mandatory: Wildenstein Castle is in the Upper Danube Nature Park. The castle overlooks the young Danube. Far below. Burg Wildenstein Youth Hostel lies outside the municipality of Leibertingen, right next to the "Top Trail" of the Donaubergland region. You can walk to the town in about 15 minutes and to the municipality of Beuron in about 60 minutes.

The hostel operates its own castle tavern, which welcomes walkers, day visitors and hostel guests every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Easter to the end of the autumn holidays in Baden-Wuerttemberg (closed on Mondays).
