In Hildesheim, the young, big city with over a thousand years of history, antiquity and modernity join forces. On the one hand, the bishop's town delights with medieval half-timbered houses and historic buildings - including the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the cathedral with its 1000-year-old rose bush and St. Michael's Church. On the other hand, Hildesheim offers everything that makes up a lively city life: nice shops and cafés or exciting moments in the Roemer-Pelizaeus Museum, where the empire of the ancient Egyptians comes alive with papyri, mummies, coffins and jewellery, among other things. Swim fans can visit the water paradise or in summer, the Johanniswiese open-air swimming pool, which is considered one of the most beautiful open-air swimming pools in northern Germany thanks to its direct connection to the adjacent Hohnsensee lake.
The, in 2018 newly renovated youth hostel, is located on the Rottsberg and is not only suitable for school classes, but also for music groups and families. Extensive nature reserves extend behind the house. There is also a small high ropes course on the grounds. The town centre is not far away, the bus stop is about 1km away. The outdoor area offers table basketball, volleyball, billiards and table tennis. Inside you’ll find table tennis and a piano. We would also like to recommend our modern conference rooms for seminars and meetings.
In the surrounding area you can explore the capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover, Marienburg Castle or the "Yellow Tower" observatory.
