The youth hostel is quietly located on the outskirts of Hankensbüttel on a 16,000 sqm idyllic forest area. Play football, volleyball or basketball to your heart's content under the tall spruce trees. Discover the tepee or make yourself comfortable at the barbecue and campfire sites and enjoy the green open space of nature.

Our house is ideal for school classes, music and confirmation groups. Our programs and modules provide variety, excitement and experience-oriented learning. Of course, families, seminar and sports groups are also welcome.

In late summer you can experience a real highlight with the heather blossom. Whether in the nearby Schnuckenheide, on the Schillohsberg or in the Orreler Heide: you will be thrilled by the lilac-coloured blossoms, dotted with birches, oaks and juniper bushes.

Another special experience is the OTTER CENTRE in Hankensbüttel. Did you know that otters are among the best swimmers among land predators? Unfortunately, they are also threatened with extinction, so the OTTER CENTRE was opened to protect them. The best way to get to know the nimble predator and its relatives is to take part in one of the 30 or so daily show feedings.

On a tour of the town, you should visit Isenhagen Monastery with its early Gothic church and herb garden. From May to September, you can take a dip in the forest pool at Lake Isenhagen.

The Steinhorst School Museum or the Hösseringen Open-Air Museum are 15-30 minutes away. Farm animal safaris are offered at BioGut Bauck.
