Bavaria's Feel-Good Hostel - Fresh, Modern, Chic!
Burghausen's Beautiful Sides
Burghausen embodies the essence of carefree living. Here, you don't need to travel to Italy; you can feel the southern vibe right here. Whether you're at the ice cream parlor in the town square, strolling through the charming alleys of Grüben, or enjoying the green meadows at Wöhrsee Baths, the imposing castle looms above. It's the world's longest castle, to be precise, measuring 1,051 meters in length. It's still inhabited, houses several museums, and stands as proof that Bavaria's dukes knew how to build castles. With six castle courtyards, moats, a Zwinger, and the Wöhrsee on one side and the old town with the Salzach River on the other, this fortress is magnificent, impressive, and unparalleled.
The best part is that the youth hostel lies at the foot of the castle, at the southern end of the old town, right above the Salzach River with a large green space. Playing football with the castle as a backdrop, where else can you find that? If football is too hot for you, just take a dip in the Wöhrsee. It's a five-minute walk away, and you can swim with a view of the castle. There are so many sports options that the only difficulty is choosing. Whether for pre-season training or team-building, in these conditions, you'll undoubtedly make the right decision.
Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Ella Fitzgerald were here. Many other jazz musicians have graced the place as well. Burghausen is a mecca for jazz enthusiasts, with the annual Jazz Week being a must-visit for fans and a delight for the industry's giants.
