Breuburg castle - the medieval experience

Breuburg castle and the Youth Hostel are located on a 300-metre mountain above the Mümglingtal valley. You will be greeted by a stone lansquenet's head, the "Breilecker", as you enter through the castle gate. One of southern Germany's most beautiful Youth Hostels is located inside the castle, which has been a destination for school classes, music or church groups, workshop participants, families and individual travellers since 1919.

Locations & directions

The Youth Hostel is located on a mountain, 150 metres above the valley of the Mümling river, inside Breuberg castle.

The beautifully located Youth Hostel accommodates its guests in 153 beds in 32 homely rooms. Rooms have 2, 4, 6 or 8 beds, and all have a washbasin. Seven rooms have en-suite showers and toilets. We make sure to serve varied meals and are happy to cater for your individual requirements. There are rich buffets for breakfast and the evening meal, we usually serve a daily menu at lunchtime. Please reserve in advance. There are three large dining rooms for you to take your meals.
