Our “super-flex” conditions

Deviating from our general standard terms and conditions, we grant our guests the following special right of termination (valid for new and existing bookings):

Schools (valid for all arrivals until December 31, 2024: Until the end of 2024, we allow you to cancel your booking free of charge within 31 days prior to your arrival. If one of the following conditions is true, you may cancel your booking without any costs until the day of your arrival:

• If there is a travel ban active throughout all over Germany or if there is a regional lockdown in your hometown or the destination you planned to travel to.
• If the RKI (Robert Koch Institute) rates your hometown or destination as area of risk.
• If the entire school class is put in quarantine by the authority.
• If the education authority shuts down the school or bans school trips.
• You may reduce the number of participants by the number of individuals who are provably diseased with Covid-19 or who are put in quarantine by the authority.

Personal doubts, individual school rules or recommendations by the education authority do not justify a cost-free right of withdrawal until the day of the arrival.

Other groups (valid for all arrivals until December 31, 2024): Until the end of 2024, we allow you to cancel your booking free of charge within 31 days prior to your arrival. Groups of 40+ can cancel the booking free of charge within 112 days prior to arrival. If one of the following conditions is true, you may cancel your booking without any costs until the day of your arrival:

• If there is a travel ban active throughout all over Germany or if there is a regional lockdown in your hometown or the destination you planned to travel to.
• If the RKI (Robert Koch Institute) rates your hometown or destination as area of risk.
• If the entire group is put in quarantine by the authority.
• You may reduce the number of participants by the number of individuals who are provably diseased with Covid-19 or who are put in quarantine by the authority.

Personal doubts or recommendations by the authority do not justify a cost-free right of withdrawal until the day of the arrival.

Families / individual guests(valid for all arrivals until December 31, 2024): Until the end of 2024, we allow you to cancel your booking free of charge within 14 days prior to your arrival (not valid for non-refundable “fix deal offers”) / 31 days prior to your arrivals in case of program packages. If one of the following conditions is true, you may cancel your booking without any costs until the day of your arrival:

• If there is a travel ban active throughout all over Germany or if there is a regional lockdown in your hometown or the destination you planned to travel to.
• If the RKI (Robert Koch Institute) rates your hometown or destination as area of risk.
• If there are other conditions imposed by the authority that make a stay at our youth hostel impossible.

Personal doubts or recommendations by the authority do not justify a cost-free right of withdrawal until the day of the arrival.

Furthermore, we reserve our right to cancel your stay due to pandemic circumstances. We will make use of this right if conditions imposed by the authority result in us being unable to provide the services you booked (e.g. ban of accommodation, restrictions of utilization). In these cases, our guests will not have to pay us anything, of course.

The “super-flex” conditions are valid in all youth hostels of the DJH in Schleswig-Holstein (except for partner youth hostels in Helgoland and Neumünster), in Hamburg and in the northern part of Lower Saxony (Cuxhaven, Otterndorf, Stade, Wingst).
