The surrounding
Leisure time sports and group experiences in the nature are playing a lead role at our youth hostel. Therefore, especially families and sportsman are feeling well here. Survival-training, raft construction and thrilling campaign-days are generating a lot of fun. In the extensive forests around the Rur-lake or in the close-by Hohes Venn, one can excellent hike or cycle- but wonderful routes can naturally also be find in the national park Eifel. The lake itself supplies a varied offer of aquatic sports such as sailing, canoe ride, surfing or swimming.
Our house
Our youth hostel is the ideal destination for all of the action- and adventure fans. The 8 metres high climbing tower, the high rope course with 15 stations and our canoe rides are real highlights in the Eifel-holiday. Especially pupils on a class trip and conference attendees love the challenges and team-experiences of the diverse outdoor-activities. Self-evidently, there`s always something going on on the huge outdoor-area- on three grounds football, volleyball and basketball is possible. And if it`s once raining? No problem at all: our movie-room for kids, billiard- and football table are supplying even then best entertainment! By the way: our house is a “bed&bike“ accommodation and was certified by the ADFC ( Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrad-Club e.V.) as a cycle-friendly house.
Escape Room
If you want to encourage the team-competences of your employees sustainable, and like to motivate for combined action with a mix of action, fun and tricky tasks, you`re exactly right in the Escape Room, furnished especially for team-trainings. With a good teamwork, the employees will not just accomplish to escape out of the room- they will gain perceptions from the game, which they can deepen in workshops afterwards.

Outdoor and adventure sports
Simmerath-Rurberg Youth Hostel is the ideal destination for all fans of action and adventure fans. Thanks to its idyllic location in the Eifel National Park, the hostel is a starting point for excursions into the beautiful Eifel countryside as well as long walks and hikes through the nearby Hohes Venn (High Fen). The hostel itself has an 8-foot high climbing tower, a high ropes course with 15 elements and canoes. It creates ideal conditions for survival adventures, adventurous holiday programmes and class trips. This promotes not only solidarity but also a new feeling for nature. Conferences and seminars can be linked to different outdoor activities, so making an important contribution to the cohesion of your group.
