Whoever comes to Simmerath-Rurberg in the Eifel should bring a sense of adventure. The Rursee and the Eifel National Park offer many varied leisure opportunities for recreation seekers, athletes and families. How about a boat trip on the Rursee? Those who prefer more action have the choice between sailing, canoeing and stand up paddling, especially in summer. The Eifel National Park invites you to take a hike at any time of the year, during which you might spot one or the other of the park's inhabitants. If not: Go to the game reserve! There are several of them in the vicinity. There you can marvel at lynxes, bears, eagles and owls, among others.
 

"Youth hostel for nature and adventure-sports"

Our youth hostel is the ideal destination for every fan of action and adventure. The 8 metres high climbing tower, the high rope course with 20 stages and aquatic sports offer such as canoe riding, stand up paddling and rafts-building are real highlights. Especially school kids on a class trip, groups and clubs on weekends, as well as apprentices and congress guests love the challenging team-experiences which are professionally looked after by our programme-partner „Hoch3“. In the winter time you can give proof of your team-ability in our escape-room at a mixture of action, fun and tricky tasks. Surely also on the huge outdoor area there`s always something going on- on three pitches either football or basketball can be played and stick bread can be baked at the campfire too. And if it is raining? No problem either, our cinema room, the billiard- and the football table are providing even than best amusement.
