The surrounding

From the youth hostel you need just approx. 10 minutes on foot to reach the centre of one of the oldest cities in the Bergische Land. Here one can still come upon the typical Bergisch half-timber houses. The park of nature Bergisches Land with its terrific hills, forests, rivers and dams awaits real lovers of nature, who wants to spend an active holiday. Small, but mighty museums, local monuments and numerous historical places are witnesses of the lively local- and industrial history. On the splendidly constructed paths one can hike excellent at all times of the year. Whoever likes to be on the road with the bicycle, is delighted about several round-paths from 20 up to 30 km length. School classes will start from our house with compass, map and climbing rope into the wilderness and will find hereby many adventures.

Our house

Welcome to the second oldest youth hostel in the world. But don`t worry, you don`t have to renounce modern standards here. Our house was affectionate refurbished and the historical building was supplemented with modern elements. Especially families, school classes and kindergardens do appreciate the charming atmosphere. On the huge outdoor-area action is trendy- here one can play basketball or table tennis and can give proof of his accuracy with the goal wall shooting.
