Discovery Centre at the furthest point

Life does somersaults in the northeastern corner of the German Republic. Behind sophisticated Binz, the sunrays fall on five kilometres of white sandy beach before reaching their destination: Prora Youth Hostel is situated right next to the beach. The sunrays jump from tent to tent, enticing couch potatoes to come outside before greeting the sandpipers. There is more good humour and fun here than anywhere else in Germany.

The unique landscape around the Hostel entices you to go out whatever the weather: The dunes, open moorland, alder fens and reed beds all belong to Germany's most precious nature reserve areas. The German Federal Environment Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU) has chosen to dedicate itself to the protection of this area.

Closeby, Jasmund National Park sprawls above with its high cliffs and beech forest. This is where you have to scramble down countless stairs leading from the top of the chalk cliffs to the beach. And what do you do if there isn't any sun? Then you can go and visit and marvel at the museums in Prora.
