Welcome to this lively lace town!

The name says it all: Inside, it's not just the colour scheme that reminds guests of this building's past - it's a former fire station. Where the fire engines were once parked is now the dining room - here, if they're in a rush hungry guests can drop right in using the sliding pole. A number of other pieces illustrate the fire-brigade theme - one that isn't just popular with children! A sliding pole, hose tower and original hose wash are all on standby for you to come and discover them.

Great for families, the Youth Hostel is located in the old fire station, right in the heart of Plauen's historic town centre. Nearby you'll find museums, a theatre, a cinema and cultural establishments, a mine, sports facilities, diverse cuisine and charming passages packed with shops.
The "fire brigade" theme is continued throughout the Hostel; we have taken care to directly incorporate parts of the former fire station, including the sliding pole, hose tower and hose wash. The Hostel has 135 beds, most of them in two, three and four-bed rooms (all with shower and WC). These include 3 family apartments, 5 rooms for group leaders and 6 double rooms with wheelchair access.
Guests can also enjoy the "hot" dining room, ten function rooms (1x 60 people, 1x 40 people, a cafeteria, two children's playrooms, a disco, two rooms for group leaders), internet terminals, table tennis indoors and out, "Taifun" game, darts, playground, giant chess and an open-air kitchen for cooking and sizzling. These facilities are complemented by state-of-the-art conference technology (projector, screen, overhead projector, flip chart), cots and high chairs.
