The Oberstdorf adventure: you can't go further south!

You'd like to go climbing, hiking, skiing or cross-country skiing? Then off to Oberstdorf, Germany's southernmost Youth Hostel! At an altitude of over 900 metres, stretch out in the evening sun when your activity-packed day in the Alps is drawing to a close.

Hike across lush meadows - a fantastic flight

Hiking at different altitudes, from summit to summit, from Alp mountain to Alp mountain, from valley to valley. Lush green meadows wherever you turn your eye, hazy views, unique moments. Enjoy fabulous hiking paths and destinations, breathe in the tranquility and slow down. Recreation is the highlight of our programme, time to wind down its main ingredient. Be amazed is our motto. Walk past the fantastic rock formations of Breitachklamm, and discover Central Europe's deepest rock gorge.

You want to fly as freely as the thoughts that come and go? Then dare to take the plunge with our Hostel's own Flying Fox. See how high your adrenalin levels can go on the 120-metre zip line. Or is higher up your favourite direction? Then our forest High ropes course is just right for you.

Winter and Oberstdorf Youth Hostel...
... go together well. That's why we are a winter wonderland for families and groups where hiking paths cross Nebelhorn, Fellhorn, Kanzelwand and Söllereck in summer. Have fun on the slopes of the finest German ski resorts, go for a short round or extensive tour along our top-class cross-country ski tracks. Ski shoes are on rent directly at the Youth Hostel, and every now and then, you will see the world's elite ski jumpers fly past as they take the Heini Klopfer ski jump.

We have the experts for those who are still trying to find out which sport is right for them. We cooperate with local mountain and ski schools. Let the experts show you the tricks of the trade, and you will be amazed to see what you can already do!
