The youth hostel is located directly above the historical town Monschau with its contorted alleys, old half-timber houses and small, but mighty shops. The national park Eifel and the park of nature Hohes Venn are offering best preconditions for wanderings or cycle-tours through unspoiled natural landscapes. The popular cycle-routes Vennbahnradweg, Eifelhöhenroute and RurUfer-Radweg are located in proximity of our house. But also interesting museums and sights are promising a lot of variety in your Eifel-holiday.
Adventure-holiday in a real medieval castle: playing in the castle courtyard, climbing towers, explore guard`s walkways or subterranean alleys- here the young and the old become knights and damsels. Especially popular for families is our “Hirschhaus“- in the five family-apartments -entirely equipped with separate kitchen and shower/toilet- an easygoing and individual family-holiday is possible. Choirs and music groups are making music undisturbed and concentrated. Suitable for up to 80 persons as a concert-, festivity or rehearsal room and located just a few metres away from the youth hostel, surely the castle chapel from the 14th century is the highlight. It bribes by an excellent acoustic- therefore an ideal place for choral singings, liturgical music and classical concert rehearsals.
