Welcome to Goethe's "Little Paris"!

This place is buzzing with life - tradition and progress can be felt at every turn. Leipzig was - and still is - a city of poets and philosophers, composers and artists, the arts and culture, sports, innovative trade fairs and new media. Whether it's the romantic little alleyways in the historic old town or the excitement of the huge rollercoaster in Belantis: You simply have to experience Leipzig's famous flair.
Leipzig is a city of superlatives. It boasts Europe's largest terminal station, Germany's oldest coffee house and the tallest town hall tower in the country, while Belantis is the largest amusement park in eastern Germany and the riparian forest of the Auenwald is unrivalled in Europe. The Panometer, a former gasometer, treats visitors to the world's largest panoramic picture, and Europe's largest construction site was where the city transformed its old mining landscape into Leipzig's unique New Lakeland. Numerous lakes offer bathers the chance to relax on the beach or enjoy fantastic water sports facilities. The Monument to the Battle of the Nations and Leipzig Zoo aren't just famous far and wide, but they are also unique.
