Located right on a lake, the Youth Hostel Kretzschau is your great place for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Our spacious outdoor grounds offer plenty of room for fun, games, and relaxation close to nature. Groups find our numerous sporting facilities especially attractive, and in light of our excellent facilities. The Kretzschau Youth Hostel has 13 separate bungalows, each with shower and toilet facilities, and is especially suited for school and sports groups, families, and bikers.

Explore thr region

From Kretzschau, you can easily explore the surrounding "Burgenland" (Castle Country), known for its numerous structures preserved from the Middle Ages, as well as the northern-most wine region in Europe. And Zeitz is just around the corner! The vaults and tunnels below the surface are a completely different way of discovering a city. At St. Michaelis' church in the city centre, you can see an original print of Luther's theses.

If you want to be active, you can go on hikes or cycling tours in the nearby Mühltal valley or along the Elster river banks. The river is also great for rubber boat or raft tours.
