Johanngeorgenstadt Youth Hostel lies in the heart of the western Ore Mountains between the Auersberg and the Plattenberg. The mountain town itself is one of the most popular state-recognised health resorts in Saxony, and a cradle of traditional winter sports. Here guests are presented with a whole world of mountain activities. The offer ranges from scrambling through mines and climbing to snowshoe trekking and defeating the challenging climbing wall.

The Youth Hostel lies in the heart of the western Ore Mountains between the Auersberg and the Plattenberg, on the edge of Johanngeorgenstadt's old town.

The Youth Hostel has 60 beds in two to eight-bed rooms (including 9 family rooms), a dining room, an open terrace and a club room. Outdoors guests will find a barbecue area, campfire area and volleyball court, table tennis, a "touch and sense path" and an insect hotel. Tents can also be erected on the grounds (subject to prior arrangement).

The surrounding region is perfect for extensive walks in both the German and the Bohemian part of the Ore Mountains. We also recommend: Family-friendly climbing in Erlabrunn; Eibenstock bathing gardens; modern sports facility for all types of ball games just ten minutes away; the "Action Tour" of Glöckl Tourist Mine is the only one of its kind in Saxony; climbing in summer and ice climbing in winter; diving taster sessions can be booked in the indoor and outdoor pools; children's playground right next to the Youth Hostel.
