Hoherodskopf Youth Hostel is located on the edge of a forest, below Hoherodskopf's 764 metre summit, at the heart of the Hoher Vogelsberg nature reserve.

The light-flooded Hoherodskopf Youth Hostel offers a magnificent view of the scenery around it. The Hostel is ideal for seminars, workshops, school groups (up to about 11th grade), music groups, youth groups and family holidays. Conference rooms with great acoustics, conference equipment and a piano are at our guest's disposal. The spacious grounds offer plenty of room for playing and running around.

The Youth Hostel is located below the summit of Hoherodskopf mountain in the Vogelsberg mountain range, close tho Schotten's Breungeshain district.

Hoherodskopf Youth Hostel focuses on nature and the environment, and accommodates its guests in a total of 128 beds in rooms with two to six beds each. Twelve of the rooms are particularly suitable for families with children. All rooms meet modern standards and most are equipped with en-suite showers and toilets.

Leisure activities

  • Of course, the beautiful scenery of the Vogelsberg mountain range is ideal for leisure activities such as hiking or discovery tours in the almost untouched nature. For winter sport fans, there are four lifts and a number of slopes, one floodlit, and a floodlit cross-country ski track plus another 50 km of prepared cross-country ski tracks and a summer and winter toboggan run "at your doorstep". From the Taufstein mountain, which is not far away, you can see Frankfurt's skyline on clear days. The sights of the little timbered town of Schotten, which is over 1,200 years old, or the timer workshop in Lauterbach are well worth a visit.
