Located on the outskirts of the city, away from the urban hustle and bustle, the Hostel is ideal starting point for individual guests and families, and various groups and school classes to explore the city's range of culture and leisure activities. It also offers ideal conditions for holding conferences, seminars, workshops and music practice classes, as well as being a quiet place to work.

Home to important institutions and with its wide range of educational facilities and cultural attractions, Göttingen is the most important city of southern Lower Saxony. Göttingen Youth Hostel lies at the north-eastern edge of the city, 20 minutes walk from the city centre. Just enter the following into your sat navs: Grotefendstr. 1.

  • We have 46 rooms, mostly equipped with shower and toilet, and can accommodate up to 142 guests.
  • 6 single rooms (of which 2 are equipped with shower/toilet)
  • 9 double rooms (of which 6 are equipped with shower/toilet)
  • 23 rooms with four beds with shower/toilet
  • 1 room with 5 beds and shower/toilet
  • 1 room with 6 beds and shower/toilet
  • Group and seminar leaders have their own single and double rooms - mostly fitted with en-suite bathrooms.
  • Are you planning a major event for up to 150 people or would you rather work in small groups? Our new hall, function and rehearsal rooms offer a lot of possibilities.
  • Need some space for leisure activities? A film showroom, disco room, large common and other common rooms are at your disposal.
