Gemünd Vogelsang Youth Hostel is located in the Eifel National Park, nestled in a small valley of the Kermeter upland region. An extensive forest area and the spa gardens with outdoor swimming pool are located right on the premises of the hostel and provide a quiet location away from the traffic. Arriving by public transport
By train (Cologne-Trier route) to Kall station. Then take the 829 bus to Schleiden-Gemünd Mitte (centre). From here it's a 15-minute walk to the hostel - first through the pedestrian zone, then through the park, always upstream of the Urft river.
Arriving by bus or car
From Dusseldorf, Mönchengladbach, Cologne and Koblenz:
take the A 1 (or the A 61 to Bliesheim junction, then continue on the A 1) to the Wißkirchen/Schleiden-Gemund exit, then continue on the B 266 towards Mechernich-Kommern until Gemünd. In the centre of Gemünd, go straight ahead at the traffic lights/church straight over the Olef bridge, then after 200 m turn right towards the Kurpark (spa garden) (Urftseestrasse).
Follow the signs to the Jugendherberge (youth hostel).


From Aachen:
take the B 266 via Roetgen, Simmerath until Schleiden-Gemund. At the entrance to the town, turn left towards the Kurpark (spa gardens) and into Urftseestraße. Follow the signs to the Jugendherberge (youth hostel).
