The Youth Hostel is located about 3 km to the east of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, on the edge of the Burgrain residential area.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the most important touristic centres in the Bavarian Alps. The Wetterstein mountains and Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, which is almost 3,000 m high, tower over the town.

Public transport to the Youth Hostel
Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bus connection from the train station to Burgrain with bus lines 3 and 4.
By coach or car
Take the A95 from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. At the end of the motorway, follow along B2. After passing Oberau, turn right in the direction of Farchant. After passing Farchant, turn right again in the direction of Garmisch. Once you have entered Burgrain, take the first turn to your right, then follow the signposts to the Youth Hostel's parking spaces. Should you have inadvertently taken a wrong turn and ended up in a tunnel (which passes outside Farchant), continue until the end of the tunnel, then take direction Garmisch and take the exit to Burgrain.

Upon request, the Youth Hostel can arrange for school classes to be picked up at their home town or the train station and taken back after their stay.
