Location & Arrival

Feldberg lies between altitudes of 950 m to 1,500 m in the Black Forest, in Baden-Wuerttemberg's biggest nature reserve. The hostel is on the summit of Feldberg mountain, at an altitude of 1,234 m. Straight at the Youth Hostel you will find the trails to the top of the Feldberg or to Herzogenhorn mountain. In winter ski lifts aren't far!

Arriving by public transport

With the Höllentalbahn you can travel to station "Titisee". From there a bus (line 7300, Titisee-Feldberg-Todtnau-Zell), a bus is driving to the Youth Hostel every hour (about 30 minutes driving time). At Feldberg leave at stop "Hebelhof", which is located in the front of the Youth Hostel.

As an alternative you can travel by train to station "Feldberg-Bärental". From there it is about 6km to the Youth Hostel. At the station you can take the bus (also line 7300) to the Youth Hostel.

When you are planning your arrival, please note, that in Titisee the last bus drives at 6 p.m. (from Monday to Friday) or 7 p.m. (at weekends). From Bärental there is an additional possibility at 8:15 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Groups who use the bus should register with SB Südbadenbus by phone at least 3 days in advance, tel.: +49 7622-68460-0. The same goes for the return trip or excursions during your stay with us.

If you prefer to travel by bus or train, the KONUS-Gästekarte (KONUS Guest Ticket) will allow you to travel free on all nine of linked public transport systems of the Black Forest holiday region - just show the ticket when boarding. For detailed information, go to www.konus-schwarzwald.de

Rail service for DJH members

The Community Travel GmbH offers DJH members discounted RIT tickets for a return journey within Germany - this applies only in conjunction with stays in a hostel. School classes and groups can make use of this offer. You must carry confirmation of your booking with you when travelling.

Our partner can handle your enquiry via the booking hotline +49 4845  79 18 464 or www.anreise-jugendherberge.de. Payment must be made ​​by direct debit. Tickets will be sent by post or online by e-mail. In the event of a cancellation, the ticket may be returned free of charge to the agency up to the first day of travel.

Arriving by bus or car
Take the A5 Karlsruhe-Basel, Freiburg Mitte exit, then continue on the B31 to Titisee or via the A81 Stuttgart-Singen, Donaueschingen exit, then continue on the B31 to Titisee. From Titisee, take the B317 towards Todtnau/Basel until the village of Feldberg. The hostel is right on the mountain pass and it is the last building on the right before one goes down to Todtnau.
Parking possibilities

The Youth Hostel has parking space for about 25 vehicles. A reservation is not needed. Please note, that it is not allowed to park or pass through the entrance area as well as the  bus turning point.

IN SUMMER:

In the direct surroundings, for example August-Euler-Platz. Outside the village "Feldberg" there is a night parking ban from 7 p.m.

IN WINTER:

In winter you will finde some parking possilbites at August-Euler-Platz, for example, but is is occupied soon. At "Saba Parkhaus Feldberg" you can book snow protected parking lots in advance (15 minutes by foot to our Youth Hostel). With a liftcard parking is for free in winter. If you are not parking your car according traffic rules, the police will consequently tow it away. We have to keep our escape roots free, too, so we also tow away.
