The Youth Hostel is located near a bathing lake close to the Ostbahnhof station, about 0.8 km from the city centre.

This modern Youth Hostel in Hesse accommodates its guests in a total of 130 beds in 32 rooms with 2, 4 or 6 beds each. All rooms have en-suite showers and toilets.

Leisure activities

  • The city's transport office offers a number of interesting guided tours of many of the various sites. Particularly worth mentioning: Mathildenhöhe (artists' colony), art nouveau museum, industrial culture museum, castle museum etc.
  • Operas, concerts and plays in the State Theatre.
  • Jazz concerts at Jagdhof Keller or at the Irish Pub.
  • Outings to Frankfurt, Heidelberg, along Bergstrasse or to the Odenwald forest are always recommended.
  • Children particularly enjoy the "Vivarium" or Steinbrücker Teich pond.
  • In addition, the Youth Hostel management has put together a variety of leisure and sightseeing programmes in the area.
  • Visit to Frankenstein castle ruins, "Hochzeitsturm" tower.
