To the right of Tollensee lake, between Neubrandenburg and Neustrelitz: That's where you'll find the Mecklenburg town of Burg Stargard. Relaxation sets in even before you arrive. Cosy hills, covered in lush meadows with shrubs and bushes, leafy forests and wild waters will open up your heart. Leave your everyday worries behind after the first rolling hill. And when your eyes have grown tired of the hilly gentleness, you'll enter a leafy tunnel: lime trees hem the the avenues that lead to Burg Stargard from every direction. The old trees along either side of the roads provide shade and have a soothing effect on the eyes and the soul. And what about the town itself? Winding cobbled roads lead the way between the crooked little houses made of timberwork, brick and clay. Burg Stargard has preserved the atmosphere that painters appreciated so much about a century ago. You will feel its calming effect without even having to search for it.

If, however, you are up for a bit more excitement, climb up to the castle and look over the country from above, marvel at the castle museum, explore a new lake every day or go on a discovery tour of Neubrandenburg, the city of four gates. You don't even have to venture far for a thrill. The summer toboggan run is an exciting ride, and then there is the witch cellar in Penzlin. But that's not all! Come and find out for yourself.

Why you should spend your holiday right here

Once you've spent a holiday in Burg Stargard, you won't want to spend it anywhere else. Because this is where you meet friendly people all the time. Many of our regular guests have known each other for years and love coming here to spend their holidays together. In summer, for instance, the children have tons of fun and adventures at holiday camp. Or people will gather around to read and listen to exciting stories at night. Or students will join us on an exploration tour on their first school trip. We love making new acquaintances and welcoming new members to our community. Maybe it's your turn to visit us this year.
