Vacations in a medieval ambience? No problem at our Rothenfels Castle youth hostel. Perched on top of a rock, it has overlooked the Main valley and the half-timbered town of Rothenfels for around 900 years. The forests and meadows of the Spessart as well as hiking and cycling trails are right on the doorstep. Enjoy a mixture of old walls and modern architecture.

Our castle complex in the middle of the Spessart offers you the right ambience for a wide variety of occasions.

Meetings and rehearsals
We are the ideal venue for conferences and seminars as well as choirs and music groups. Our 16 rooms with up to 100 seats and our large Knights' Hall with 300 seats offer great rehearsal and seminar conditions, including state-of-the-art conference technology. You will find the perfect sound on three grand pianos, seven upright pianos, percussion and other instruments!

School classes
Travel back in time to the Middle Ages, build simple instruments, discover nature and learn a lot about social skills, nutrition and the environment. An individually designed program from the extensive portfolio of our "Castle Days" modules awaits you!

Imposing castle grounds
Within our castle walls, the sports field, campfire site and pizza oven offer plenty of space for sport and fun. Enjoy peace and tranquillity in our baroque garden!

Our contribution to sustainability
We don't just think ecologically, we act ecologically too. Since 2009, we have been burning renewable wood from the region for heating and hot water. This reduces our CO2 emissions by over 90 percent.
