Our Hostel is situated in the city centre, just a few minutes' walk from the main station. The Youth Hostel got its name from the "Bermuda3Eck" ("Bermuda Triangle"), an area in Bochum known throughout Germany for its high density of restaurants and cultural events.

Locations & directions

Our Youth Hostel is in the heart of the Ruhr Area, on the "Bermudadreieck" in the city centre. So it's the ideal starting point for a "Tour de Ruhr": Start with a spot of culture, then go shopping in the city - and finish off in the evening with Starlight Express.

  • The Youth Hostel has 202 beds in 69 rooms. Choose between staying in a single, twin or dorm room (3-6 beds), or a "comfort" room. The following services are available:
  • Reception open 24 hrs., check-in from 2 p.m., check-out by 10 a.m.
  • Bistro area with snacks and drinks for sale, cocktail bar and speciality coffees (available 24 hrs.!)
  • WiFi, internet terminal, TV, free daily newspaper
  • Borrow hair dryer, iron and board games
  • Photocopying and fax service
  • Underground parking / reserved parking (charges apply); Timetabling information at reception and tickets for local public transport
  • Lift
  • We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Reservations will be kept until 6 p.m. on the day of arrival. Should you plan on arriving later, then we require your credit card number to secure your booking.

Culture and leisure

High tech is the future, and not blast furnaces: The structural transformation of this mining region into a creative European metropolis for the 21st century is well under way. Immerse yourself in the fascinating industrial culture this area has to offer, for instance by cycling on the Erzbahntrasse ("Iron Ore Railway") to Zeche Zollverein ("Zollverein Coal Mine Indsusrial Complex") in Essen. Or take a trip to the unique German Mining Museum, just a few hundred metres from the Youth Hostel. We offer a range of package programmes for groups, e.g. a visit to the musical Starlight Express or Bottrop Alpine Centre, a canoe tour on the Ruhr and much more.
