Dear guests,

We, the Biggesee Youth Hostel team, would like to wish you a warm welcome!
Not far from Olpe in the southern Sauerland you will find our Youth Hostel, in an idyllic woodland setting above Biggesee reservoir.
Combined with the large green areas around the Hostel, the optimum use of space within the building provides ideal conditions for a fulfilling stay, not just for school classes, sports and recreational groups, choirs, orchestras and seminar participants, but also families and people travelling alone.
Whether meals, housekeeping, assistance or Hostel management, our friendly team is of course on hand to cater to your every need.

Locations & directions

Located next to Biggetal Dam pre-reservoir opposite the district of Eichhagen.

The Youth Hostel has 250 beds in 33 six-bed rooms, most of which have washing facilities, 10 four-bed rooms with shower/WC. For teachers and group leaders there are 6 more rooms (4 twin rooms) available, each of which is equipped with an en-suite shower/WC. Six day rooms (holding 25 to 100 people) form a central meeting point for Hostel guests as well as an ideal backdrop for seminars, courses and social events. We also have 3 meeting rooms (holding 20 to 50 people). The hall is suitable for events with up to 350 people and has a large indoor climbing wall. Thus interactive education programmes can be held all year round.

Good mood guaranteed:

Thanks to its fantastic location and spacious lawns, the outdoor area is ideal for sports and games. Soak up the sun on the sun-bathing lawn, or get physical and make the most of the Hostel's own football area, beach volleyball field, table tennis and boccia. Even if the weather's not too good there's no risk of boredom, thanks to our indoor climbing wall - activities are supervised - complete with rope bridge. Round off the evening by chilling out completely with a barbecue and cosy campfire.

Exciting programmes:

School classes and recreational groups can choose from our diverse range of package programmes. Whether all-year-round adventure programmes with climbing fun on low ropes and at dizzying heights, or as agents on a top-secret mission, together you can overcome even the toughest of challenges. What's more, our experienced team leaders also offer canoeing and pirate activity programmes. You can of course also book individual components from the wide range we offer.
