Großer Arber, king of the Bavarian Forest

Großer Arber is often called the "King of the Bavarian Forest". With a height of 1,456 metres, it is the only summit of the Bavarian-Czech border massif that rises above the climatic tree line. Well-signposted paths and climbs of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty will take you up the mountain, starting from any direction. Großer Arber is the ideal destination for a family outing. The Arber Bergbahn 6-seater cable car is a comfortable and weatherproof way of reaching the summit in summer and winter.
