Tips for your stay

The castle offers right royal experiences; in particular the numerous exhibitions and museums will ensure an interesting stay. You might choose to dine in the historic barrel vaults, pay a visit to the Museum of Natural History, see the Motorcycle Museum - which boasts one of the most sophisticated collections in Europe as well as a carriage collection - or marvel at the House of Wettin's treasure exhibition or at the lovely castle chapel.

Local attractions

The Sternmühlental area boasts a sprawling network of hiking trails, and the town of Augustusburg is best explored by bike thanks to the many cycle routes. In the surrounding area you will also find a funicular railway, a summer toboggan run with night-time events including torchlight rides, ski lifts (beginners' skiing and snowboarding courses), the outdoor pool in Erdmannsdorf and the large water park in Marienberg.
