Already the Romans in their legionary camps and their city Colognia Ulpia Traiana used the proximity to water for their purposes. If the main focus lay in former days on the river Rhine as a road of commerce and military, then nowadays our guests are enjoying their vacancies at the Xanten SouthSea. Our aquatic sports youth hostel with its maritime flair, an Eldorado for activity holiday makers, is located at the lakeside.

The programme is just great.

Here aquatic sports fans get their money worth. Either sailing, surfing, diving or waterski- guests of all ages will appreciate the attractive offers of our youth hostel Xanten. For school classes our house offers pedagogical supervised three- or five-day stays. During these school leisure times, diverse thrilling aquatic sports can be tried out. ( bookable from April til October). Whoever needs in between some dry air, shows on shore, that he has something on the ball- at the beach volleyball or in the soccer camp on the artificial grass.

Families will be prepared by competent conduct for the diving areas of this world. For daring wreck divers even an 11 metres long yacht was sunken in the SouthSea. The first submarine sculpture garden of the artist Hans Kluck from Xanten is to be dived here. More family fun with the new trend catamaran sailing: glide on the trapeze directly above the water surface and experience the elements of nature at first hand. ( both programme offers are bookable in the NRW holidays).
