Certainly our rhenish Eco/Youth Hostels are first at all open and friendly guesthouses, but inspiring learning- and experience centers as well. Here we are generating a relaxed learning milieu, and are trying to place ecological and social didactic impulses for our guests and employees. Either family holiday, school trip or group tour- one has to undergo sustainability!

The Eco/Youth Hostels in the Rhineland are convinced that economic acting always have to take place in terms of sustainability- in fact in every sector.

-environmental pedagogical programmes and concepts

-an on-site pedagogical skilled employee

-no re-usage of PVC, tropical timber, biocides

-no chlorinated or phosphatic detergents

-no heavy duty detergents

-an annual carbon and energy footprint, transparent for the guests

-one third of the food is coming from the region

-20% of the food is coming from ecological farming ( this has to be reached into 3 years after approval as an Eco/Youth Hostel)

-no portion- and non-returnable beverage packaging

-sorting of reusable material

-usage of recycling-paper

-annual quality-check ( strong and weak points analysis)

-regular appearance at meetings of the Eco/Youth Hostels

-creation of a development plan
