Our protection concept

Safety and responsibility at DJH BW:

The protection of children, young people and adults is our top priority – it always has been and always will be. As a recognised provider of child and youth welfare services, we have a special responsibility towards our guests, our employees and society. Our youth hostels are places of community, learning, trust and relaxation. To ensure that all guests feel safe and secure with us, we have developed a comprehensive protection concept. For us, this concept is not a one-off project, but is constantly reviewed, further developed and adapted to current requirements. Our principles:

Prevention & awareness: Employees and partners receive regular training to identify and prevent potential risks at an early stage.

Clear rules: A binding code of conduct ensures respectful interaction and awareness of personal boundaries.

Transparency & trust: Contact persons, emergency plans and advice centres are accessible and visible at all times.

Shared responsibility: We all – guests, parents, employees and partners – contribute to ensuring protection and safety in our establishments.

Our promise:

Protecting children and young people is not just an obligation for us, it is part of our identity. We send a clear message: violence, abuse and discrimination have no place in our youth hostels. We want to empower, protect and support children, young people and adults – so that community can be experienced in safety.

Part of a strong initiative

The DJH BW supports the nationwide campaign ‘No room for abuse’. Information, flyers and further links are available in all our hostels and on our website. Further information about the campaign
