Branding & Public Good – Responsibility and Values at DJH Baden-Württemberg

Things you can count on!

The idea of young people from all over the world coming together in a spirit of friendship is at the heart of the youth hostel concept, which remains as relevant today as ever. Intercultural understanding and getting to know people from both home and abroad reflect the vibrant atmosphere of a youth hostel. The promotion of environmental education and conservation has always been enshrined in the statutes of the German Youth Hostel Association.

As part of our global commitment to promoting sustainable development, we actively support the implementation of the SDGs. From promoting environmental protection initiatives to strengthening local communities, we are dedicated to creating a better, more liveable world.

For all youth hostels, sustainability is a holistic approach to quality that is geared towards long-term success. It combines economic efficiency, customer focus and social commitment. And it promotes a balance of interests among all stakeholders – navigating the tension between economic, environmental and social demands, whilst taking into account the ability of future generations to thrive.

Responsible tourism: As a brand, we are committed to responsible tourism. This means that the comfort and hospitality offered in our youth hostels go hand in hand with a strong focus on environmental friendliness and social responsibility.

Public good: The public good is close to our hearts. We are involved in various social projects and support local communities in Baden-Württemberg. Through our social engagement, we aim to make a positive contribution to strengthening society and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the services offered by DJH Baden-Württemberg.

Partnerships and collaboration: We believe in the power of collaboration. Through our partnerships with local organisations and businesses, we not only strengthen our brand but also contribute to the development of the region.
