Leisure activities around the hostel
The Bergisches Land is an inspiring region: here you will find all sorts of ideas for a really exciting stay. In the Wupper valley all the assets of a big city lie right before you: several museums, theatre, opera, cinemas, fun pool, fascinating testimonials to industry past and present and of course the “Suspension Railway/Zoo Tour” which is almost a classic already. International companies such as Bayer AG take guests here for company visits and special programmes. Wuppertal is a city of sports: not only is the swimming sports centre well-known far and wide and ideal for intensive training. Less ambitious sportsmen and women also find a wide range of possibilities; from dragon boating to inline skating to swimming or hiking for pleasure everything is possible. The green surrounding which start right at the hostel doorstep makes it possible. A special hint for ardent railway lovers: we have prepared arrangements and special offers for clubs and families of railway enthusiasts!

What makes us special
Wuppertal offers exciting package programmes for school groups from year five and over which will acquaint students with the highlights of the region. The hostel team offers a balanced mix with varied nature, history and sports programmes as well as special programmes dealing with choosing a career and with science.
Another special feature: for groups of up to 60 musicians a large hall is available. A piano as well as facilities for individual rehearsals offer the practical base for a “training camp“ for choirs and orchestras.
Sights to see
The suspension railway and the zoo – famous landmarks emphasizing the attractive contrasts the city has to offer: industrial culture meets nature. With its internationally renowned metal products, Wuppertal wrote industrial history which you can experience live today. Thanks to wellknown personalities from cultural life and politics, such as Else Lasker-Schüler and Friedrich Engels, Wuppertal came to be the cultural centre of the Bergisches Land and a university town.
