Hellenthal is a quiet town between forests and meadows right at the edge of the Hohes Venn and in the immediate vicinity of the Eifel Nature Reserve. The hostel is therefore ideally located as a base for excursions into the wild and unspoilt natural Eifel countryside.

from Düsseldorf, Mönchengladbach or Cologne:
A1 or A61 to Bliesheim intersection, continue on A1 to Euskirchen/Wisskirchen exit, then onto B266 as far as Gemünd, then turn left onto B265 as far as Schleiden, in Schleiden continue on B265 in the direction of Hellenthal, in Hellenthal town centre continue to the round-about and follow signs for the Youth Hostel (“Jugendherberge“), you will find the hostel on your left 1 km after leaving the town.
from Bonn or Koblenz:
from Bonn B56 as far as Euskirchen, from Koblenz A1 to Swistal-Miel exit, then onto B266 as far as Gemünd, then turn left onto B265 as far as Schleiden, in Schleiden continue on B265 in the direction of Hellenthal, in Hellenthal town centre continue to the round-about and follow signs.
from Aachen:
Follow B258 via Monschau as far as Schöneseiffen, in Schöneseiffen turn right in the direction of Hellenthal, in Hellenthal town centre continue to the round-about and follow signs.
