Hold your conferences close to nature in the Capital of Culture 2010
All the Ruhr Area’s creative forces will be bundled in 2010 to present programmes and projects enabling visitors to directly experience the creative transformation of an industrial region into a metropolis of culture. Outstanding highlights, such as the RuhrTriennale, the Oberhausen Short Film Festival and the Recklinghausen Ruhr festival, as well as a multitude of museums, theatres and architectural monuments already testify to the cultural quality of the “Black Country” today. The Youth Hostel is located in the southern part of the city of Essen, in a woodland area above Lake Baldeney. Thanks to extensive modernization work in 2008, all rooms now have their own shower and toilet and are therefore even more attractive for conference guests. A bistro and a sun patio invite guests to relax.

The catering team sets great store by a balanced cuisine with a variety of salads of the season. Bread and rolls are sourced directly from a bakery specializing in wholemeal products. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style.
On request: Additional conference drinks and fruit • Afternoon coffee with pastries • Snacks • Barbecue nights • Lunch packs.
Meal times can be adjusted to fit in with your conference schedule. The YH team will be happy to take any special catering requirements into account when planning your event.
