The hostel is located south of the city centre above the little town of Werden, surrounded by extensive woodlands, and has excellent public transport connections. To Lake Baldeney and Villa Hügel it is only 30 respectively 45 minutes on foot.

Arrival by bus & rail
By rail to Essen Main Station, then take S-Bahn (S6) from Essen Main Station or from Cologne Main Station via Düsseldorf Main Station to “Essen-Werden“ stop, then by bus no. 190 to the hostel. Arrival by coach or car
Motorway A52: Essen-Bredeney exit, Motorway A40: Essen-Stadtmitte exit, then in the direction of Werden. Coaches please follow the second sign, app. 3 km after the bridge across the Ruhr. Parking
There is a bicycle parking area as well as a parking lot for cars at the hostel.

1. from Airport Central Terminal
3 minutes on foot to Airport Terminal S. From there take suburban train S7 in the direction of Sohlingen-Ohligs to Düsseldorf-Dehrendorf stop. Change to S6 in the direction of Essen Hauptbahnhof and get off after approx. 30 minutes at Essen-Werden stop.

2. from Düsseldorf Airport Railway Station
a) take Regionalexpress (RE) in the direction of Essen Main Station. After approx. 30 minutes at Essen Main Station change to suburban train S6 in the direction Köln-Hansaring and get off after approx. 10 minutes at Essen-Werden stop. or b) take suburban train S1 in the direction of Düsseldorf Main Station to Düsseldorf-Dehrendorf stop. Change to S6 in the direction of Essen Main Station and get off after approx. 30 minutes at Essen-Werden stop.
