Location
Regensburg can look back on almost two thousand years of history, and in the Middle Ages was one of Europe's main economic, religious and political centres. In times past it hosted glittering plenary sessions of the Imperial Diet and was also the first capital of the Bavarian dukes. Much of its mediaeval quarter has survived to modern times. Today the 140,000-inhabitant city is the capital of the Upper Palatinate administrative region.
The youth hostel is located on the Untere Wöhrd island in the river Danube, and is a 15-minute walk away from the city centre.

The Regensburg municipal bus is an ideal way of getting to the youth hostel and all other destinations in town. To reach the youth hostel, simply get on a line 3/8 at busstop "Albertstraße" and get off at the "Wöhrdstraße Jugendherberge" stop .
By car/coach
Leave the A3 Nürnberg-Passau or A9/A93 München-Hof at Regensburg-Pfaffenstein exit. Continue to Frankenstraße bis "DEZ Donau-Einkaufs-Zentrum", turn right to Nordgaustraße and follow the signs „Jugendherberge“.
