Possenhofen Youth Hostel is close to Lake Starnberg, which can be reached directly via a public landscape and leisure park offering large meadows and an attractive swimming area. The youth hostel is also close to Possenhofen Castle, once the summer residence of Elisabeth (Sisi), Empress of Austria. The town of Starnberg is about five kilometres away, and the city of Munich another 25, both destinations that are easy to reach with the S-Bahn suburban fast train service from a station located a ten-minute walk away.

The surroundings
Located at the edge of Possenhofen, a small, quiet district of the community of Pöcking, the youth hostel has the added advantage of being opposite the Paradies recreation park, which features one of Lake Starnberg's most attractive swimming facilities. Possenhofen is also an ideal base from which to discover the lake area on foot, by bike or steamboat. Shopping facilities are located about two kilometres away in Pöcking.

Leave München and join the A95 in direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at Starnberg change from A95 onto the A952 in direction Starnberg, in Starnberg leave A952 at junction Percha and join Münchner Straße (B2), go on for about 3 km, turn left into Dinardstraße, head straightforward onto Ferdinand-Von-Miller-Straße (2 km), go on until Kurt-Stieler-Straße.
