Passau Youth Hostel is located in the 500-year-old Oberhaus fortress on a wooded hill high above the place where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers flow together.
Housed in the castle's former tavern, general tower building and blacksmith's shop, it not only provides amazing panoramic views of the two-thousand-year-old city but is also ideal for exploring past eras, whether dark or dazzling.
Excursions can be made to the Bavarian Forest, Austria and the Czech Republic in the vicinity. Passau's unique location on three rivers also predestines it for boat rides and long bicycle tours in the city environs.
